Page 5: issues 8 (Fearless) and Special 4 (Sysyphus Part 4)

Top page: I debated dialogue or no, but decided against.  When planning this issue, I had wanted the Runner to face a different type of criminal than seen in the comic yet (like maybe even a bank robber–it's a standard criminal that this comic hasn't even shown), but I realize I sunk myself last issue with the mention of "a sea creature that stopped a mugging".  So there are two muggings stopped in a row in my comic.  And yes, timeline-wise, this runs concurrently with the Swimmer's debut.  I can imagine both situations are happening at the exact same time.
 
Bottom page: The masked guy may or may not be referring to when Captain Perfect infiltrated the Doppelganger Gang headquarters and stole a uniform from a guy who was wearing one much like this guy.  I'm not saying they're the same Ganger.  The woman has claws.  I was going to make her an energy blaster, but I realized I needed to make these characters ones that make sense that they haven't been in the spotlight in the comic–their powers are just a little lacking to be on the "A-squad"–a henchman-type, a girl with short fingernail claws and a sentient dog (yes, that's a dog–I can't draw).  The last is overshadowed by Frostbitten, a Ganger who is also a polar bear–and also incredibly smart.  Obviously, the dog is a step down from that.
