Top page: Of course those pouches were there for something.  I only want to put such things on a character if they will use them (unlike a lot of 90s characters).  And this page establishes the Runner's main schtick–he's effectively unpowered and uses gadgets, except he does have an advantage in that he can breathe underwater (well, he can only breathe underwater, as evidenced by his breathing apparatus).  Why is he called the Runner, despite having no running powers (and such a name would seem a perfect fit for a speedster)?  It might be evident, but he'll explain it later anyways.  It's not like he's been called that yet in the issue, anyways.
 
Bottom page: It's a very literate page, isn't it?  The poor guy here is supposed to be one of the Bearer Brigade (redshirts) that Gertrude and Brunhilda of the KAMics brought with them to the 2011 Halloween Cameo Caper.  KAM had fun killing them off in various ways, and I decided it was the perfect way for Tempore to enter this portion.  The 2011 Caper took place in the Hillsfar Mountains, where dinosaurs still lived.
Oh, and the tiny text in panels 8 and 9 says *Snap* and *Tromp tromp*, respectively.
