It's not an accident that the Runner was the one talking about them not being freaks when he's not human.  I just wanted something underscored a little there.  They may be a bit eccentric in ways, but my cast is still very human overall.  Now, if only Eiderdown's mom would be able to see that…
Also, I finally give her a first name here.  She actually has a Lao first name.  Turns out Eiderdown's legal first name, Kao, is actually Chinese (also spelled Gao).  It was my mistake when giving her that name.  The person in my life whose name was Kao was actually Mienh and not Lao, as I initially thought.  Oh well, I'll give a reason in-story for this eventually.
