I just came back from the arcade where they have a new Sega UFO Catcher aka the greatest scam in the Universe!


There is a constant video playing in the back wall of the machine showing the different ways you can catch one of the plushies in the machine. One of them showed the tongs landing between the tag loop of the toy and dragging it to prize box. Simple? Maybe. Was it practical? Probably not. It's been a guilty pleasure to watch couples attempt the machine and then utterly fail because the tongs were really weak and the prizes looked heavy.

Today I was just going for kicks and giggles, put my dollar in the slot and before I knew it, the UFO catcher hooked around a basket that a Mickey plushie was holding and soon I became a proud owner of one of those big stuff animals.

Who would have thought?
