The arcade had a different feel today.

I was more inclined to challenge complete strangers to race because I knew it was going to be the last time I was going to play Wangan in a long time. A memory from first year came up in my mind while I was playing - a memory from my first night in the arcade. I remember walking to the arcade with a few of my floormates just around midnight. I started my first card - a Fairlady 280Z (S30)- I liked the sound of its name. I lost the first race.

It's been three years and I still go to the same arcade to play Wangan. The arcade itself has gone through renovations but the Wangan machines have been a permanent fixture since I moved to LA. Racing has been as much a part of my college experience as the school itself.

I am going to miss that game.
