[300] Warning Sign

Today is my 300th strip. I feel that getting to this landmark number required more backbreaking labor than the last two hundredth marks. It was met with difficulty with my final quarter of college, my move to Europe and my scanner breaking but in the end I'm glad I'm still here with this archive to show for it.

Now enough about page numbers…

The Postal Service - Be Still My Heart

I looked at the current year and realized that it was ten years ago that I really started getting into music. For me, 1997 was the best year for new groups that appealed to me (mostly alternative). However, trends started to gravitate toward boy bands and teenie bop during my middle school years and then a bunch of angst-filled emo groups during high school.

I'm not the kind of person who would buy a CD just because it's the flavor of the month - it's a waste of money. My main criteria for any genre of music that I listen to is whether or not I can draw while I'm listening to it.

This is when I noticed that ten years later, I am starting to like the new direction that music has headed.

Maybe trends really do work in cycles.
