[329] Concept Art: In the Control Room

I injured my left wrist yesterday which left me impaired to even think about working on the next update page. I was thankful it was my left hand because if it had been my right, then I wouldn't be able to work on the comic for the next couple of days.

Since I'm going to be leaving for the Algarve in the next few hours, I'm going to be working on updates to hopefully keep you guys entertained while I'm on vacation.

Now what do you think about this new experimental style? I'll save the entire rant on raw sketches versus the digital medium in my sketch blog. Honestly, I like it and one thing I noticed was that my laptop didn't overheat in the time it took for me to color it. Sometimes I have a picture for a scene in my head and somehow it comes out better when the art is extremely sketchy and fluid like this than when I take the time to ink the pages.

Another thing is that after I looked back at my old color works, I couldn't put my pen to the paper for days. Maybe I was just feeling conflicted in the way I used to produce art and the way I've been making it lately. However, it never occurred to me until now that it is possible to combine digital paint right on the raw sketches. I hope if my styles go through some drastic changes, I won't offend anyone and lose the readers that I do have… but then again, I was never one to stick to a single medium for too long.

Anyway, this scene is just a glimpse of where I've been trying to get the characters since the beginning of this arc. Enjoy!
