Okay, regarding the comic: the thing in the first panel is a "credstick" It holds access to a certain amount of credit which can be spent like money. Don't ask me how it works, I presume it's something like Paypal. :P Also, it seems our captain once bought, stays that way. Honor of a sort…

I hope you find the artwork more to your liking. I've worked out a way to do the comic that gives me more time to work on the penciling stage which should help with the overall appearance.
