579: ...To Dream (The Zombiween Finale)

And thus, our little tangent ends.

Incase it’s not as apparent to people who don’t have access to my brain-space, the preceding arc has been a dream sequence. There’s a bunch of little artsy-fartsy things in there to lead you there, like how the last week grew into incoherence and culminated in pure insanity, but I’ll let that be where it is.

I love, love, LOVE doing arcs with other people. There’s a very short list of people who I trust with my characters. Chris regularly writes strips, and just recently he and I did a whole arc together. Besides him, there’s only one other person who I feel like really has a hold on these people. I mean, who understands Skip better than Skip, right?

Murl is my best friend in the entire world, and I love that he agreed to collaborate with me on this Zombie story arc. The stuff he came up with was simply brilliant. You can see my fingerprints all over this one, certainly, but this is mostly his opus. He deserves to take a bow, but being the digital medium he’ll have to settle for a kudos.

I’d like to thank you all for reading this early Halloween story. I feel like a learned a lot about my cartooning, about writing, and about the crutches I tend to fall back on. I think it’s made the strip stronger, and I hope you all enjoyed it at least a little.
