So how does old monocle here knows that the kid is rich?

Kings of the New World's timeline is set way way waaaay into the future. After all our advancement. After all the wars. After all the natural disasters.

Right now slowly but surely we are getting rid of paper. Bills are done electronically, the kindle to read books, the iphone, the internet and all the other HUDs (heads-up display) you see Microsoft or whoever is developing.

In this future, paper is rare. Like how we all put so much value in gold or diamonds– this society values paper because of rarity.
