here's the background story on this character. i know winning entry or not, ill work on this comic. ill probably post it up here on drunk duck too.

Edison Saint is the genius son of inventor/ mechanical/chemical engineer Dr. Nicholas Saint and Phoebe Wuhrer-Saint. Edison basically grew up around California's Laguna Seca MotoGP racetrack. His father discovered a new element that proved to be a viable new source of clean energy. After months of testing and proving that the formula works, Dr. Saint was ready to release the good news to the world. He was going to do this by racing in the MotoGP with his newly developed motorcycle fueled by this new source of energy.

This is when everything went awry. In the final lap of the race, while Edison's father was leading (proving that both his clean energy engine and newly discovered fuel element successful) the engine blew up. Dr. Nicholas Saint was paralyzed from the neck down. The Edison name was tarnished in the scientific and racing community and the doctor was labeled as a failure.

This shifts Edison's focus from combustible engine innovations and alternative energy experiments to mobile suit research and development. He wanted to create a suit that would help his father walk and move again. And while doing this to also prove that his father's research wasn't a failure.

In a span of a year, working hard and never losing focus, Edison was able to develop a successful mobile suit. He used his fathers new element as the power source and based the robotics in his father's engine designs. Dubbed type-X3RO (X3- three point progression that connects the suit to the wearer's nervous system. RO- Romulus- Dr. Saint's alternative energy element that powers the suit) the suit clamps on the patient's spinal cord and brain through a series of long needles. It is a painful attachment process but when attached, the patient is able to completely move his body augmenting his natural capabilities. The suit is directly wired to the person's central nervous system causing him to operate everything with his own thoughts feeling as if the suit is actually part of his/ her anatomy.

During the eve of the big gala presentation of type-X3RO to its financiers, the Lerner Medical Group, Edison snuck his mother and father to the high security University lab and showed them the mobile suit. The family was in tears when Dr. Nicholas Saint wore the suit himself and ran around the facility. Vindicated that his discovered element works, and even happier that they will be able to help the disabled people of the world, the family shared a hug. On the way home, still teary eyed and riding the high of having a wonderful son, Dr. and Mrs. Saint's car careened off the highway into a cliff and died.

Edison Saint did not show up for the presentation of the type-X3RO suit to the Lerner Medical Group. With his family gone, all he held on to was for the financiers to mass produce the suit and help the people who are need, just like his parents wanted. Edison was given a large sum of money initially and is now living off the subsidy from the Lerner Medical Group. Money and easy living did not matter to him though. He just wanted his family's dreams of helping out society realized.

Edison found it odd that after the big gala presentation the public still havent heard of this new development in paralytic care. Even inide the Lerner Medical Group, he could not find any signs of production for the type-X3RO suit. Frustrated, Edison started looking for answers. And with the help of his genius hacker best friend, Rei D' Etre, found out that the Lerner Medical Group real plan was.

The Lerner Medical Group is a subsidiary of the multinational conglomerate Hammer Tech. Hammer Tech operates out of 59 countries and has its tentacles on almost every aspect of society. Case in point: Hammer Tech also owns Hammer Weapons Development which provides international governments high tech weaponry for its' military.

A little more digging and the pair found out that Hammer Tech was also Dr. Saint's main competitor in the MotoGP race and had a huge stake with combustible engines and fossil fuel. They didn't want the status quo to change so they set up Dr. Saint's MotoGP “accident” by sabotaging the newly invented Nicholas Saint engine. Hammer Tech was aiming to disgrace the doctor to never again sell his new source of energy, nor his clean power engine. Further digging into the Hammer Tech CEO files divulged that even the Saint's car accident was an assasination. Failing to silence Dr. Saint during the MotoGP incident, they made sure that he will be killed the second time around.

This sets Edison Saint into a rage. With the help of his friend Rei D' Etre, they use their Parkour and martial arts skills to break into Hammer Tech's lab and steal the type-X3RO suit.

After successfully stealing the suit, Edison and Rei added more a couple of features to it. The headpiece is now directly connected to every network it could possibly find. The type-X3RO head piece can now freely access the internet, government intelligence, scientific, business and scholastic databases, even orbiting sattelites. The suit being directly linked to the brain, all the information it could acquire could be directly applied by whoever is wearing it. Whether it's martial art forms, flying a commercial airplane, or cooking a gourmet recipe- all the user had to do was to find the information, upload it to his brain and the suit uses the information into action. The pair also added a hardened polycarbonate visor which not only acts as a protection and concealment of the wearer's identity, but also as a heads up display with real time augmented reality information which constantly updates the suit's user.

Type-X3RO augments the wearer's natural physical abilities. The suit was intended for the use of paraplegics and the elderly to augment their already weakened state and help them do basic actions. Therefore, Edison's natural strength and skills, i.e. motorcycle racing, Parkour, Arnis, Jeet Kune Do and Hsing-I are multiplied 500 fold. Think of Micheal Jordan, Chuck Lidell, Manny Pacquiao, David Bell, Tony Hawk in their prime all rolled into one. Edison Saint while wearing the type-X3RO suit now has the strength, agility, stamina, and focus of all the Olympic, professional and X Games athletes at his disposal multiplied hundreds of times.

Hammer Tech continually abuses its wealth and power for its own benefit. type-X3RO is intent on bringing Hammer Tech and its holdings and subsidiaries down. The altho never really identifying himself with anyone, the general public gave Edison Saint the name “type-XERO” after a multitude of witnesses noticed the name etched on the headpiece. The regular population considers type-X3RO a criminal because they don't know the truth behind the evil of Hammer Tech.
