Dramatic lighting and perspective!
Devlin knows what's going on. Kind of. 
She's not great with fantasy series and fandoms… she only saw the Harry Potter movies on ABC Family. She is definitely stronger than Koji though. 
Like a lot of artists, I end up taking a lot of awkward reference photos of myself. For that Perspective!Devlin's pose, I ended up jacking my laptop up on some books and kneeling on the floor. http://i46.tinypic.com/344bkia.jpg We… do not have the same body type. LOL.
