Title: Could you love me?

Hi. This is one of my newest paintings. I've been practicing different techniques. It's been really wonderful for me lately. I've been able to really throw myself into my work, and grow a lot as an artist. Anyway..on to the painting.

It's based off a story told in Robin McKinley's book "The Blue Sword." Sort of a side story. Anyway, a man of the desert falls in love with a woman who is not. She knows she won't be able to adapt to desert life, but stays with him anyway, and teaches him her language so he has a piece of her always. After a few years her body gives out and she dies. Now…yes it is a sad story. but I really wanted to capture the beauty of it without the ending overshadowing it. I wanted the viewer to just she her. Young, and in love, and blissfully happy. Wearing the glow a woman does after passionate love making. So…here it is. I hope you all enjoy.
