As far as this one goes, I really don't have much to say about the comic itself, so instead I'm just going to make up a topic ( Actually, that's not really all that unusual with me, is it? ). That text was a major pain in the butt to get to fit in the way I wanted it to though. With each comic I tend to try and think about how the text balances and affects the actual drawing of the comic since it's within the panel itself and hence part of the imagery ( Some would argue I'm overthinking things if I care about words. They would also say I have too much time on my hands, and probably be right. ). It seems to me, that after flipping through a few websites and books of single panel comics that Last Words is most unique in one aspect ( Other than being chewing gum related. ): As far as I can tell, I'm one of the few single panel artists who treats the text as part of the image. Most others seem to exclude or relegate the text to a simple line beneath the comic. I find this horrid abuse of text to be a criminal waste. As such I plan on writing my local congress human expressing my desire that he submit a law that will allow me to hit other people with my artwork until it starts to influence them ( Whether through brain damage or other means it doesn't matter to me. ). And if that's not enough, I'll resort to assaulting them with my keyboard until they retaliate by throwing pencils, at which point I'm hoping my name will go down in history as being the person to incite "The Great Art Supplies War". I'm just envisioning the glory that could be a gallant young cartoonist charging a hill, ruler in one hand and technical pen in his other as he screams to his illustrators to begin launching their drawing triangles, while the designers prepare to drop propaganda posters to crush the enemy in their studios. Just imagine the amazing fury and noise of the fight as they all clash, drawing funny faces on each other and waving their T-squares.
