Caffeine: My not-so-anti-drug

On some days, with a full time job, daily comics and my other various art activities I seriously consider getting one of those hats for concentrated Mountain Dew. But I doubt they make one with big enough cup holders to keep me from having to make constant pit stops to refill every hour. So instead, I just opt for the traditional cartoonists method of recharging their batteries, and just make a few unintelligible screeching and grunting noises, then scurry under my desk and stare wide-eyed at whoever comes into the room. After just over six months of doing this, I've discovered that trying to maintain my sanity just doesn't flow well with being a cartoonist. So rather than try to fight it, I just embrace it and ignore the stares. After a while it becomes a job perk. Some folks get company cars, others get health care, and I get peace of mind and a continuous career ( Unless I go too crazy. ). To me, that sounds like a pretty good job benefits package. Especially considering the main perk is that I always have an excuse for acting strangely and never acting my age.

So, if you'll raise your coffee cup with me, here's to another six months of comics to come and let's hope it doesn't end any time soon. Because I'd rather not start growing up. I hear it's painful.
