Ok, so I'm late by a little bit ( For those of you obsessive enough about your comics to be up at midnight looking for them. ). I guess you'll just have to live with it, unless you live within a 50 mile radius of my house and know where I live. Anyway, I'm back from my unscheduled crash of over-exhaustion.
This one is one of the few rare ones that comes directly from my daily life and is in no way simply derived from it. I say that because this afternoon after walking in the door and giving my usual greeting to the house, I was met by an unusual silence. While standing in the doorway wondering if this meant I could use the ceiling fan as and underwear drying device or not I heard a strange clicking noise. Determining to find out what it was and suspecting someone or something that was not supposed to be in the house, I swiftly went into my commando mode and put my mental alert up to a full yellow ( Red is reserved for when I actually find a burglar, it comes with flashing signs that say "RUN LIKE HELL! IT'S A FREAKIN' BURGLAR" ). Thereupon, after going into my most professional and dangerous mode, I quickly proceeded to fall face first onto the stairs as I tripped over the dog ( A load of good she is, sleeping while strange things move around the house. ). After making sure that everything within a five block radius knew of my presence via several choice curse words, I moved up the stairs and followed the noises into my bathroom where I was greeted by; my 11 month old nephew, sitting alone in the sink with a bar of oatmeal lavender soap in his mouth as he happily gnawed away at it. Somehow, it seems he managed to climb a 30 inch tall counter by himself for the sole purpose of getting to the soap while his grandmother was in the next room getting clothes for him after a bath. Apparently, this is by no means the first time he has accomplished this feat. His mother blames my eccentricities.
I think he's just getting a head start on future trouble making.
