Drawing the comic has been going rather… laboriously for me lately. Drawing a page a day was awkward and difficult to keep track of. It's gotten a lot easier now! I drew it out in my sketchbook so it's all cool.
One day I'll like to scan what this comic was before I drew it on the computer and posted it online. I tend to use my sketchbooks mainly to draw comics I don't post anywhere and the format's different. I grew up with European comic books, like Tintin and Asterix, and American newspaper strips so the linear layout of the panels was something I was always used to.
Then when I drew this comic one of the main things I wanted to worry about was the background and I realized I couldn't do that with that kind of panel layout. I dunno, it's still difficult for me to just have an average of four panel a page like this but I think I'm getting used to it? I took a page from Kio Shimoku and kept all the panels square, I always liked his layout and the overall look of the page was appealing. His pages always felt open with the gutters.
Well, anyways… I dunno. I suppose not being in school I haven't talked about art for awhile. I miss horrendously long critiques where people argue over representational versus abstract art. Man, why can't we all be chill?
ANYWAYS. I just had some banh bot loc and it was really bad. Ugh. I miss hand made ones.
