It’s true. That joke has been done before. Here’s proof, from a comic that greatly inspired me to do comics.
 
Actually, I made another joke like that when I saw In Time (very underrated movie, by the way). When Salas said “I’m going to take them for everything they’ve got,” I turned and said “He takes checks and MasterClock.”
