In Search of... the 918 (Part 3)

"In Search of…" was a 1970s TV show that explored a different paranormal or pseudoscience mystery each episode, like the Loch Ness Monster and UFOs, or a historical mystery, like the disappearance of the Roanoke colony. It's basically the precursor of just about anything the History Channel shows today. I used to watch afternoon re-runs of "In Search of…" on A&E with my grandfather in the early 1990s and was won over by its combination of creepiness and charm, a feel greatly attributed to Leonard Nimoy's narration and the synthesized '70s background music. That showed fired up my imagination and fed my appetite for the weird, back before all that stuff was at my fingertips on Wikipedia. So, that is how this story got its name.
