LEGO used to create zero background information for their original themes, which has allowed me to make up my own stories and characters with LEGO Space as the storytelling tool. However, these days LEGO tends to name their minifigs and create stories for them both in the sets themselves and in supplemental materials like comics and Web sites. This makes me hesitant to use Space Police III, as I feel like I'm writing fan fiction by including characters like Squidman. However, it also didn't feel right to pretend he was someone else, and this comic mainly offers stories centered around official set and minifigure designs. Readers have been requesting I feature the theme, too. Since Space Police III is not going to be shown much outside of this storyline, I figured, "What the Hell?" and stayed true to it. Of course, it's my interpretation of things, as always.
