In both the first and second LEGO Space Police themes, the #1 villain was Blacktron. A dastardly Blacktron minifig came in almost every set. They were the perennial quarry of the Space Police, going together like peas and carrots or chocolate chips and cookie dough. However, Blacktron was glaringly absent from the recent Space Police 3 sets, replaced by aliens of various races. There was a single exception in the form of an alien criminal wearing a jacket that was a hybrid of the Blacktron I and II uniforms. But what happened to Blacktron as an overwhelming, singular force of crime? This comic includes my idea about that, in that the traditional Blacktron operatives have sunk more into the shadows, operating on a grander scale with lower-level criminals and gangs doing their dirty work and kicking up the profits. Blacktron has become more elusive, but is stronger than ever.
