Back before they were semi-famous, I used to go see the band The Alternate Routes play on a regular basis. They introduced a song called "The Future's Nothing New" in which one of the instruments was a toolbox hooked up to a microphone. The lead singer would shake the full toolbox to the beat; it was the coolest effect! That directly inspired the henchman I call "Toolbox Man" in this comic. He smacks you around to the beat!
