dragonestea onWhoo! double digits! and it only took me months and months to get here! Oh well, one of these days I'll finally learn to update once a week. It won't happen next week though, because of a rather fortunate discovery I made. I was at a friend's house and I found a CD for a program called Manga Studio 4. I now have a burned copy of this program, and hopefully it will make things a lot faster, I just need to learn to use it first. Photoshop is great, but it's a photo editing program, not a comic program. This, I assume, is why the paint bucket tool is broke as fuck and always leaves a blank space between the filled area and the lines that are being filled in. This space is far smaller if I use the pencil tool, but it is for that very reason that I use the brush tool, because the bigger space is easier to find and fill. What I want is no space at all so that the coloring process takes minutes or hours instead of days.

I think Marvel's comic series The Runaways is my favorite superhero book these days, and reading through it recently I found a new artist to admire by the name of Adrian Alphona. I really like his work, and I noticed his style has many similarities to mine, so I'm hoping that in the future when my art doesn't, you know, suck I'll be able to draw like him. I thought the scene where Karolina came out of the closet was especially well drawn. I just wanted to go into the comic and give her a hug. Anyway, just thought I'd share that.

I'm kind of kicking myself for my writing recently. I'm always hard on my own art, but I usually take great pride in my writing. Recently, however, because at my current speed I would never get to the good parts of the story otherwise I have to compress the story. That's why this fight came out of nowhere, and even though I will make it make more sense later it seems kind of dumb now. If I want to be a published comics writer I really need to do better.
.
So I don't like my art or my writing. What then do I like about this page? I love the battle dynamics. I hope you guys are enjoying watching this fight unfold as much as I am choreographing it. This is a precursor for many awesome battles to come, so get pumped!
