This is pretty much true.. the first three questions you should ask when confronting the angel of death all lead to the same conclusion..

"Is that Azrael?" - yes
"Is he holding ANYTHING in his hands?" - yes/no (it doesn't really matter, but if no, it leads to question three)
"He's empty-handed?" - yes

Conclusion: "He's going to kill me"
A piece of silk is a lethal weapon to this guy! killing his grandson for no reason will only earn you a more interesting ending..
