Too many possibly deadly things for me to handle!
Aridy onYeah so as I realized all of the possibly deadly things that could kill me, that I would be living with for the next two months or so, I realized that I was not prepared. Let me list out only a few of the things about how things were. No electricity. No ice. No contact with the outside world. No air conditioning. Water from a well, which if it was contaminated slightly we would then have no water at all. The threat of malaria. The poisonous and aggressive Fer-de-lance snake. Jaguars in the jungle at night when trying to find the way to the pit on sticks we called a bathroom. Millions of poisonous and/or gigantic spiders and other assorted bugs. Fire ants and army ants, all of which run at you to bite the crap out of you instead of running away like ants do in the States. Dysentery. Sunstroke. Poisonous plants and trees that can burn off your skin if you touch them. Oh, and the gigantic flying cockroaches that we thought were birds at first, in our food area. Also it was a five hour hike in and of camp. No road there because no vehicles could get there on account of there being sort of a marshy area all around us. It was kind of a shock for a while, though I have to say I feel like I adjusted better than some people.
