In the L.W.D. world sunlight does not kill vampires. it does however make them sick and as weak as a human. think of it as the world worst hangover. so vampires tend to be grumpy by day. Smart vampires stay out of bright light as who wants to have the world worst hangover.

Sandy hunts by day. she thinks the sun glasses and hat are a cool disguise. I don't know why she hunts by day she is an odd vampire.
