This big, ugly, mean, uber-strong Pulse is in fact Pulse's second half, cryptically named Yorel Sumdac.

(Yes, that is a name spelled backwards, and though I don't use it often, it is a reference to Leroy Cadmus, Pulse's true name. Leroy appeared on the cover of this issue, and will also make an appearance in the Epilogue. Though not inherently evil, Leroy has issues controlling his powers, and himself)

Anyway, getting back to the matter at hand. Yorel is somewhere between Pulse and Leroy, has no restraint whatsoever, and can be called the polar opposite of both Pulse and Leroy. He causes destruction and death at random, with no remorse and often no conscious effort.

To sum it up, Pulse has three major forms: Pulse (Normal), Yorel (Evil), and Leroy (Neutral).
