Yes. I will be taking a month-long break from Lifeblood. But fear not! The five-page-per-week update shall continue. It will be filled with action-packed pin-ups of many Lifeblood characters you know and love.

I know there's nothing more boring than a long-winded speech, especially when it's tacked onto a webcomic, so I'll keep this as short as I can. I have been running Lifeblood nonstop for 10 months now. February to November. Five times a week. Over two hundred pages. I have never faltered. I have never missed a deadline. But I can no longer deny it: I am tired, frustrated, and I need a vacation. XD

Here are the top reasons why I'm hitting the pause button on Lifeblood:

1. I will be away on vacation to Florida for two weeks.
2. I am preparing to start an internship soon, and after it is done, I will (finally) receive my Associate's degree in Computer Animation.
3. I have made countless sacrifices in order to maintain this rigorous update schedule. Frankly, I can no longer continue to do so. I want to resume commission work, get back to my life… perhaps even create an original comic of my own.
4. I have neglected all of you, my friends! My adoring fans! Seriously, though, I haven't read the comments here on DrunkDuck in months. It's true. I want to, but there has literally no time for it. Now there will be. I also miss my friends' wonderful art. Comics like "One Question" and "Germutations Plague" (among many others) are beckoning to me!
5. As some of you may (or may not) have noticed, I created a second webcomic a few months ago called "Trial Grounds". I have used it to fine-tune a slick, user-friendly new layout for this very website, and it is 90% complete. I had hoped to premiere it around a set of gorgeous new comic pages, but sadly, that is not to be. You can't have it all. Go ahead and look forward to the new look, however: it will be user-friendly, with a consistent design and a distinct capacity for expansion. You should take its premiere as a sign that Lifeblood is not going away: I have brighter, better plans for its future than you can imagine.
6. Lifeblood has served its primary purpose. What was that purpose? To be a constant source of practice in the art of comic-making. While my comic-making skills are still far from perfect, I finally feel that I am skilled enough to start work on a fully original comic, and perhaps even make some money at it. This doesn't mean I'm abandoning Lifeblood. In fact, I promise that I will pick right up again on it a month from now. I just need some time to breathe, to reassess my goals and get my stuff together.

I guess that was a longer list than I intended. Oh, well. I would like to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for continuing to support me and compliment me these past ten months. I literally wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you.

There will be precisely 5 weeks (or 25 pages, whichever you prefer) of pin-up art, and then the comic will resume. Stick around to view them, or come back in early January, instead. Either way works fine for me. Just keep Lifeblood alive by continuing to visit!

To sum it up: 25 pages of art for 5 weeks (or most of the month of December) and then Lifeblood resumes. Check back in early January when I pick up where we left off.

I thank you all once more, and pray you will forgive my unintentionally long-winded speech. XDD
