Well, I intensely dislike the thought of uploading this page on April Fool's Day, so everyone gets a slightly early page this week.
And speaking of scheduling, next week will have a special three page update to celebrate the twenty-fifth comic/ story page (originally I was simply going to do a two page update to cover the twenty-fifth pages, but I decided to add in an extra page to make up some of what I have missed).

Moving on, it seems that things are beginning to break down a little bit in Lockre's life, what with his brother Marcus leaving. At least he will be visiting every few months. I am relatively happy with this page, except for the shading in panels five and seven. It seems to be a pattern for some reason that I either really like or am unhappy with something in the fifth or seventh panels… Maybe it is just my imagination.

A little bit of background to this page involves why Marcus is leaving. Despite the fact that the Academy has other Unuon mages present, the Union forbids the formal training of mages outside of their territory. Mostly this is done to ensure the safety of the mages, if they accidentally over-draw (use too much magical energy at once), there are other mages who can channel the excess energy away from the victim. The other reason is to keep the mages carefully regulated and prevent rogue mages.

Also, for those of you interested, a good amount of information has been added under the Lands section of the database, as well as a new spell. In this case, the new spell is the atmospheric shield, which is being cast by the mage on the boat and acts as the sail for the vessel.
