City of Intrigue pg 31
Lord Rend onUgh, where does the time go? My apologies to everyone who has missed my updates and is still reading, I shifted over to my summer schedule and things got a little unexpectedly hectic. Suddenly, I look at the calender and realize that it is the end of May and I have not updated since May 2nd. So again, my apologies, here is the much delayed update, followed with another update this Wednesday and next Saturday until I have made up for the four missed updates.
I have very little to say about this page since I need to work on getting back up to speed with my missed updates. I will say that I am fairly pleased with it, all things considered (and there are a couple few problems I can pick out). As soon as possible, I will fix the errors I see though.
One world note I can think of for this page relates to the so-called 'Colonies' in the southern Union. By and large the Union of Fang and Claw is an inland nation whose topography mainly features vast areas and flat grassland mixed in with forests. This 'central zone' is mostly ringed by low lying mountain ranges that cut off much of the nation from the larger oceans and seas for many years. When the Union finally did expand beyond the mountains however, they found themselves confronted with a vast virtually impassable stretch of water as well as several small nations of Ferilis (mostly water and air borne types). While these nations had highly developed navies and seafaring skills, they were politically and socially unstable. Thus, the two entities worked out a deal: by becoming Union colonies, these nations would gain the social stability they needed to prosper while the Union gained much needed knowledge of the ocean and the goods contained therein. Since these colonies maintain a fair degree of autonomy within the Union, they have never seen a need to become independent again.
