City of Intrigue pg 32
Lord Rend onToo tired to write much now, I will add more later… Although I will mention that Argus (the other Fader) is a Tasmanian Tiger, in case anyone is wondering…
EDIT (6-17-09):
Sorry about taking so long to put up a decent response everyone. Well, here we go nonetheless…
I do not have much to say about how I feel about the page, and in any case it has been long enough for me to forget exactly what I disliked. If I go through and edit the page I would likely remember, but first things first.
This page features the introduction of another Fader, Argus who, as mentioned above, is a Tasmanian Tiger Ferilis. His speech is very hard to write because it is very unnatural for me to try and use first, second and third person pronouns in dialogue. Still, the effect comes across nicely. It should be noted that the Dragon Ferilis he is holding in the second and third panels is actually two-dimensional (hence why he cannot be seen in the second panel). It is an ability of all Faders to drain the existence away from their victims, down to the point where the person effectively becomes zero-dimensional and ceases to exist. Most Faders do not go that far simply for reasons of energy efficiency. Draining someone from two to one dimensions only gives them about a tenth of the energy as draining from three to two dimension. It is also for this reason that Faders tend to target mages exclusively, since draining their magic produces about one thousand times as much energy as the conversion to two dimensions. More about the Faders can be found in the Encyclopedia on the forum.
