City of Intrigue pg 36
Lord Rend onSorry everyone for how long it has taken me to update, but at least all issues are resolved for the most part. Scheduling is still a little fuzzy, but not so much so that it will impact my update schedule, which should be going back to the previously promised update every Saturday starting with this update. The only thing I would caution is that the next update might be late by a couple days if anything. However, otherwise everything is set, including a date for the big update which was promised earlier. Originally I was simply going to update through the end of the memory walk, but after looking at the layout it will not be that many updates. However, around Christmas and New Year's there should be a good time for a large multiple page update. When I say that I should mention that I am talking about five pages or more at least. However, I leave it in everyone's hands: would you rather have the big update now or is it alright if I wait to upload it? Please let me know which you would like, I can do either.
As for this page… it took me forever to do, but I like the end result, it turned out well.
This page has several features, first off being the Fader's draining ability, which is explained here in some detail. Otherwise though, Lockre can be seen using it in the first panel, where he is actually draining Argus' magic out of him. Since Faders are only maintained by magical means, Argus begins dissolving as a result, which is a marked difference from the dragon Ferilis seen on page 32.
Beyond that, we get to see what happened to Argus: he ended up being imprisoned inside Lockre's mind. This is actually kind of important, if you go back and look through Lockre's memories, you can see several instances where Lockre seems to be looking at himself rather than viewing the memory from his perspective. With the exception of his earliest memories (ending at page 23), this 'corruption' is a result of Argus' memories merging into Lockre's as he tried to take over. This leads to some interesting, if disturbing implications… which might become important later.
Well, that is all from me for now, see everyone next week.
