City of Intrigue pg 40
Lord Rend onPage two of three for the Thursday/ Friday update, and it is another expanded page. While I do like the level of work I put into these pages, they probably will not become standard, namely because my computer has difficulties processing such large files (this one had a size of about 400 megabytes before the final processing for posting here). Anyways, I am really happy with the bottom two-thirds of the page; the top part is okay, but it does not have as much detail as I would have liked.
A few things to explain here: first off being the physics of a mindscape. Basic rule is: there are none. Mindscapes are fully mental planes, they do not have gravity, friction, inertia, weather or anything else that we are accustomed to in the physical world. That being said, it is possible to walk in them because most people do not think about how walking requires friction and gravity to work, they just do it. The same is true of a mindscape: if you want to walk somewhere then you do. If Mira had wanted to realistically fall instead of float down, she could have and probably would have woken up with a nasty headache from her projection's 'death.' That said, it is possible to die in a mindscape, it is just very difficult. I will put something up on the database/ forum about that later.
Also important to note is that magic does not necessarily exist in a normal mindscape. While psychic/ psionic powers can exist in any mindscape regardless, magic can only be used in a mage's mindscape (if they want you to be able to) because the psyche and magic work in conjunction (hence why mages do not need spells and only need runes to help them focus).
