City of Intrigue pg 44
Lord Rend onWell, here it is, the end of Phase Three: Forging a Friendship… Next week begins Phase Four: Forbidden Tomes.
In terms of art, that last panel took a long time to do, but I am quite happy with the result overall.
There are a few things to explain on this page, so I will start with the simplest…
Wolfsbane ale is pretty much what it sounds like, a type of drink that is popular at parties. It is kind of similar to wine in some respects, the rest I will up to you imagination.
Next is Mira's comment that viewing the memories of others does not convey a good sense of timing. This is true, she can see the memories, but she cannot feel them, cannot put them in an entirely accurate context. It is like watching a sunny day without feeling the temperature, looking at a calendar or seeing any ground cover/ foliage. You might be able to guess what season it is, possibly even the month or the year, but you cannot be completely certain if the time is correct.
The Sekechi Hibernation March is… complicated. It is explained on the database better I think, but basically the Sekechi are plant-based beings. With lifespans lasting thousands of years, they could very easily overpopulate Tyn, but they instead have a system set up to prevent that. When their children reach the age of adulthood they take them to massive complexes underground where the young adults will sleep until another Sekechi (usually their parents) dies. When that happens they wake up and live the remainder of their lives normally. Considering that the only known way for a Sekechi to die is unnatural causes (be they accidental or otherwise…), many of these hibernating Sekechi spend millennia sleeping in stasis.
