El Cid sez: The artwork has been pretty solid for the most part and improved throughout the comic. Contentwise, there's definitely some stuff in B.A.S.O. that you won't find in Star Wars. But it's not schlocky at all, and does a good job of balancing everything.

Though the early background designs lacked a little realism, due to the fact that the juxtaposition of the water and the metal structures made one more aware of the fact that it was rendered than in looking at them as their representations, the later scenes did better with well-done underwater and indoor scenes.
