Well, this is it, 10 creators and we are done. Well until the next one… Which will likely come soon.

When I saw Banes’ page I initially thought “Where could I go from here? That is the ending!” Then I sat and mused about it and several different possible endings came together. Banes’ page has Earl grow old, so I could do a flashback to show what had happened to the flamingos. Say showing them getting blown up by a missile or a Klingon Bird of Prey. Or I could just have a slow pull out from suburbia, to earth to the solar system and maybe show the flamingos flying along on the galactic rim.

Or the Twilight Zone ironic twist ending. It came together in a flash, the whole page and dialogue just flowing out. Most of the twists were self-evident. Banes’ implied passage of time translated perfectly into relativistic space travel. Mary left with another woman so ironically Earl married another man. And the tears. Another nice detail Banes put in that could be twisted. Allergies? It’s totally open to interpretation.


I mused about doing action figures but time was too tight. I used to do chalk and pastels on brown and black paper or on the chalkboard. I wanted to play with that again. I inverted the white on black ink artwork and used the chalk brush in Photoshop.
