Hollywood horror tries too hard.

There is something about horror, it tries way too hard. Between rigidly following the "rules" set forth by the community (must be dark, must be mysterious, must be scary, must be realistic, must be grounded, no exceptions) and honestly trapped in the past and refusing to adapt for various reasons but again it is because of the "rules" (isolate, separate, decimate)

There is a ton of great horror movies in other countries that ignores these "try hard", not just Japan but Mexico, Canada, France, even England got some good movies.
