Web comic frustration.

Web comic frustration.

Furwerk studio

Every time I try to create a webcomic I go through these stages.

1.) I want to make a comic, and actually plan out a pretty good buffer and get a set amount ready before setting up for release. At this point I was thinking of at least 52 pages, excluding covers and these pages called "Omakepedia" that would fill in details of the world. At this point I am very happy and looking forward to spending ten years on this project.

2.) Is when a good chunk of steam is let out because of several factors, but they all attach to hosting. You see I like to release a webcomic at least one page once a week, to gain followers and build a reputation.

I wanted to use a comic hosting site to both get my stuff out there, and set up an automatic release over time in case something happened like computer frying , busy life, work and so on that could interfere. I ALSO wanted to do a full story filled porn comic, and so far I only found two websites, comic fury and Drunk duck, that allows that.

Which is weird considering how almost pornographic many BL comics on smackjeeves and other sites can get you think they be okay with sex comics.

On that subject:

3.) Finding out the mods might outright ban you if they don't like you, or you say something on their forum everyone disagrees with even if you are well within the TOS. Thing is I wanted to get pretty messed up with my series, like Urotsukidoji, Genocyber, Bio-Hunter, basically like a lot of 1980's adult anime ova full of noncon, blood and all sorts of naughty things, and honestly I feel like if I went a head with my original plan I would get ether kicked off, or being mocked and turned into the site's personal "Chris-chan".

4.) In the end I just fall apart, feeling kind of like I'm hamstringing myself trying to appease the crowd and trying hard to partake in the forum games only to find myself at odds with the community's general attitude.

I go through these stages every time I try to start up a long form comic, and usually something happens in life to change everything along with feeling like I don't quiet fit the webcomic crowd.

I'm just going to have to scrape what I got, because I don't care for how it turned out, and just start from scratch than post it across the art sites manually weekly when I'm done instead of at a breakneck, half assed, stress fueled pace on the webcomic ones automatically.
