And so we come to the end of the arc with death, evidence tampering and implied female masturbation. Good, quality fun.

The main thing that gets me is people who get into comics not because they enjoy doing them, but because they want to get rich. Be it getting to Penny Arcade level fame on the internet or having their work turned into a big selling blockbuster. I write comics because I enjoy doing it, and I also love knowing that people are reading them.

Having said that, I'm at a moral crossroad. What's the problem you may ask? It's almost time for Platinum Studios' Comic Book Challenge and I'm a little unsure as to whether I want to enter it this time around.

As many of you might know, PS holds this every year for one reason: To do to a comic what they were able to do to Men In Black. They buy the property, pay you to do a mini series and while that's going on, they shop it around to studios to see if anyone wants to make it into a movie. But, they do have a history of being shaky with payments and have made some bad managing decisions over the years. However, the properties do get some promotion, which results in readers.

What's my problem exactly? Well if I actually win this thing, I'll get my foot in the door of the industry, but I'll also lose all rights to what I'm submitting. I mean, yeah, I'm just going to give them a title I don't care as much about (No way in hell are they getting LWI if you guys were wondering. That's never leaving my grasp) but still, it might not sit right after a while. As for the money, I don't really care if they take years to pay me, I would just love to see one of my works in a comic shop. And here's the main one, what if this actually comes back to bite me and people avoid me forever because of my association with Platinum?

Of course, the competition hasn't started yet (Who knows, it might get cancelled this year) but I'm still a little conflicted on what to do.
