133 - Liberation Part One

When the strip began, I told myself to try and keep it fun for the first year before the serious stuff came in. I know a lot of people hate it when comedies go all emo and stuff, that's why I wanted to hold it off for a while. Unfortunately, we're getting to the point where I'm running out of stupid gags for the strip as it is, plus the whole thing is probably going to wear thin if I keep it up.

Does that mean we're going to go the way of Megatokyo? Hell no, I'm going to try and go the Questionable Content route. Character development, a touch of drama, but you can still get your laughs. Nobody's having a miscarriage, no one's moving away and no one's going to find out that their soul mate was just part of a dream they had. We'll still have some crazy stuff (I'm not done with Nell yet) but we'll actually be heading somewhere.

So is this arc the start of the serious? Hell no, this is one of the craziest things I've written so far. The seriousness starts next arc.
