Local Look Awesometown Editorials
Author notes
Happy New Year
Awesometown onAnother holiday comic I don't have alot to say about, I guess I'll be getting back to current local topics starting next week.
The good news is my newspaper has officially decided to pay for me to join the AAEC (Association of American Editorial Cartoonists), so I'll be taking that banner down off my website soon.
I've started thinking alot about what I want to do once I'm done working at this newspaper. Not that I have any real problems with my newspaper, I'd just like to get out of this town, and I'd like to work at a bigger paper. I'd really like to get in as an editorial cartoonist somewhere else, however I know that the business is struggling so it might be hard to find work in the places I want to live. I could always syndicate my editorial cartoon, however I'm not really sure how well that business pays off as a main income, most do it as a side income when they are already involved with a newspaper. So I've begun toying with the idea of starting a comic strip feature. Similar to my other comic Awesometown, but geared much more for the syndicated comics page… it's just an idea, but I believe if I can get picked up it would be much easier to make a living as a comic strip artist than a editorial artist, and provide the freedom to live anywhere I want. So that is sort of my New Years resolution for this year… figure all this stuff out.
Hope everyone has a great New Year!
Stay safe.
