Wednesday night a small single engine plane made an emergency landing in Venus Florida. After inspection local yahoos became very suspicious when they noticed odd markings on the plane including "Iraqi Air Force:.

Something very small, became a major news story.

And in the end, the explanation is so simple that people should feel stupid for getting so worked up in the first place.

The plane was one of three basic training aircraft painted in Tampa to be sold to the Iraqi Air Force as part of a foreign military sales program, and was being flown to Miami where it would be boxed up and brought to Iraq. The plane was having some engine trouble so they set it down in a safe area.

There was no "INVASION". No "ATTACK". Nothing.

An Iraqi Air Force plane like this one could never have made it here for a secret mission, it cannot cross the ocean, it cannot carry enough fuel, it doesn't have the cargo room for anything useful, it can't carry enough men to even start a badly planned invasion… the only thing a plane like this is good for is learning to fly, and joy riding.

Not to mention that the Iraqi Air Force is nothing but a cardboard cut out with the United States Air Force standing behind it. Even if they could attack us, they wouldn't want to. Remember the Iraqi government loves us, it's the people who aren't as convinced.
