Guy Maxcy is pushing hard for a stimulus package to stimulate the local home builders market. However, unlike the free money Bush is handing out, Maxcy is proposing to suspend additional fees that can add up to about 5% of the cost of building an average home.
There is no clear cut reason why I chose to compare this proposal to Frankenstein and his Monster, other than it sounded funny.
However, there is a good chance that it is the perfect analogy. Our local government operates by passing on its operational costs to the people, anything that is not paid for by the fees associated with it is paid for by taxes. If you suspend the building fees, then essentially you are asking the people to pay for housing to be built. To many people that is not an even trade.
