I know it sounds weird at first, but think about it…

And about the "Kiss your darlings back again!" in panel 3.
When you use a lot of time and energy on something you know will only last 2 or 3 days you quickly learn to live by an "enjoy it while it lasts" philosophy. That was the case with the "cafe/bar" at a place I used to be. Every week it would be repainted and decorated according to a new theme. And we were literally welcomed to that room with the saying "kiss your darlings goodbye!" when we first heard about it. I like to think that this is a reaction to that, and it seems to have lasted at least two years (I was there in -06, there's a little F04 in the bubble that means it was made in the spring of -04).
