threeeyeswurm onChinese legends are pretty underrated. They used to be my bed time story and they were so epic, strange and colorful. The characters are always motivated in ways that don't make sense until you really think about it. A lot of times their feelings are not known until they do something bizzare and unexpected. It was almost like experiencing a different culture.
In North America, all we are really familiar with is the Monkey King when it comes to Chinese legends. And even then the familiarity is more with the character and not the story. Japanese artists have utilized Chinese legend enormously in their popular culture stories but I would say they take alot of the essense out of it. I would like to see more stories that are inspired by chinese legends. That would be fun.
