You notice here that the licinse plate says "in joke". Here's why.
Lovecraft Yoai was not my first comic to take place in the town of Blevenston, PA. Before that, there was my sports manga, "KSCA", which dealt with Blevenston's SCA group; and a newly-qualed young squire out to become a knight of SCA. (KSCA has three pages drawn) Before that, there was "I am Not Her Mother", which centered around a fourteen year old who looked middle-aged and her eighteen year old friend who looked ten; and the older girl's boyfriend who looked like a woman. (I am Not Her Mother has six strips drawn) Before that, there was the Geeky Gamer's Guild; in which the gamers George, Anu, and Diane get magic dice which transport them into another world and turn them into Gurps, Whitewolf, and Deanndee, who set off to free this strange new world from the clutches of the ominous Gamemaster. (Geeky Gamer's Guild has two pages drawn)
While working on GGG, I wrote a fairly in depth backstory for the town of Blevenston, designed the basic layout of the town and some background characters. After doing all that, I didn't want to make a new setting with each comic and just kept reusing it.
