Pennsic Panic Filler 2009

This year, the pennsic panic takes up the entire month I'm trying to get ready for it.
This is the very first drawing I did when I decided I was going to do a webcomic. Here I sketched out two of the main characters, warped versions of me and my friend Tom. Not because of a great dynamtic between us, but because we are weird and would make good comic characters. I actually came up with the name Emo Shinobi Boy first, and then had to figure out who he was. I basically took the ninja from Tom and the emo from the leader singer of Thirty Seconds to Mars, and combined the two to create my male lead.
I couldn't decide whether to give the male tipped emo hair or a ponytail, so I tried both. The girl I wanted to look like she could be the Reanimator from another comic I did; but I wanted her to be a lolita, so I turned the braided cloth into hair that looked like it had until recently been braided.

I like how I drew her hair the first time I drew her. I'd like to get back to that. It was cute.
