Rae was a preestablished character from a novel series I've been outlining, that's why in my notes I talk about her still being herself while fitting into the story.
Also, from the get go I knew how I wanted LH to end, I just didn't know what to do to get there. Out of all of the ideas I had, DG turning around for five seconds while Sue mailed a letter matched the level of simplicity and absurdity I desired.
There's still a few more extras to go.
