There's this other dude I'm also annoyed with in the auto shop. He's a newly hired apprentice but acts in an arrogant manner.

For a new guy… he has the nerve to order me around as if I'm some fuckin dumbass just because I'm quiet and all. The first couple times I just complied. Not a word. Just a "yeah" and a nod. But the third time I was pissed… but I decided to use sarcasm and humor to diffuse the situation.

I stood up like a lousy cadet (shoulders straight but knees spread and bent) and did a salute… and was "SIR SIR YES SIR SIR!!!" Then paused with shaking knees and a weird face…

I thought he would be pissed and he would start a fight. Since he's the newer dude, that will get him fired definitely. And in case of physical confrontation, I know I have the strength advantage (he has reach advantage though). But he just smiled and treated it like a joke. I shrugged it off too and also treated it like a joke.

So after that, he was more respectful to me and we became cool with each other. However 75% of what he would talk about is:
- about how tough he is….
- how he is such a cool kickass ladies-man… and proudly boasts about how he got his friends' girlfriends to sleep with him.
- how many friends he's got and how popular he is…
- about all the stupid shit he did in high school. Again… proudly talked about.

An ego-maniac boaster. Most likely he's saying the truth. I know the type. There's no such thing as a quiet respectful guy who every woman likes to sleep with. If there is, perhaps he lives in another country. NO WAY in North America.

Oh well… guess his "macho" exploits can serve as a good basis for story ideas.

And to deal with those kinds of people, dont try to make them feel inferior to you. Just let them brag and sometimes throw in comments that hint on your slight inadequacies and he should teach you how… and how you wish to be more like him. BUT… don't try to get yourself pushed around. Sarcasm is your friend.

Hey… aside from learning about cars, I also learn how to deal with total jerks. lol :)
