@magickmaker, Aussie_kid, SarahN, Walrus - thanks for posting your opinions.

Anyway, the 2nd Amendment of the USA constitution (IMO the BEST constitution in the world…) was put there to put the power in the hands of the PEOPLE. Because that way, it is a deterrent against common criminals, the government gone bad, and external threats to the nation.

If you have an armed population, the biggest threats to your safety and security would be kept in check (which is a govt that becomes bad or an external occupying force).

Think about that. There has to be a balance of power in this world for there to be world peace. Not power focused on the hands of the few.

Thats why Hitler, Mao, Stalin, and every dictator in history has sought to disarm their population. In order to deny them political power. In a free and democratic republic that is of the people, for the people, and by the people… shouldn't political power be in the hands of the people?

Yes there's still gonna be the problems that you mentioned of trigger happy crazy people pulling out guns and shooting. Its not gonna be a perfect society but its still better than living under a controlled dictatorship or external occupier.

@patoborracho - look up that verse yourself in biblegateway.com That site has every version of the bible in there.

@Peipei - I noticed that too. But there's a theory I've seen that there are actually two "gods" in the bible. If there is this dictatorial god (like the Tower of Babel and Adam and Eve getting banished from Eden for eating an apple), its Satan. If its this loving god (like Jesus telling you to love your neighbor), its the real God. There's also this other theory I read from David Icke that the REPTILIANS WROTE THE BIBLE in order to confuse, divide, and manipulate us.
